Double Oval Stream

TitiaD 26 May 2023

"Muddy Stream"
May 21, 2023
Oil on canvas
60x50 cm

This one is based on the Bob Ross "Double Oval Stream" painting.
I obviously did not use the ovals.
Bob's painting has two birches in the middle, right in between the ovals, and some bushes.
Since I did not use the ovals I figured putting those trees smack in the middle wouldn't look so good. So I decided I'd paint them on the left side. But in the end I settled for just some bushes in the lower left corner.

It was fun using some duller colours for once, as I tend to use much brighter colours.

Since I did not use the ovals, the title of my painting would just be "Stream". Ehm...
I figured "Muddy Stream" would make more sense, because the colour reminded me of a stream we were camping at once, somewhere in France. It became this raging stream of muddy looking water after a rain storm.

Excellent Titia! Such a beautiful scene and executed wonderfully!

This is beautiful Titia. Your paintings always seem to add something the originals lack. I don't know what it is, but I love it.

Wow! What a beautifully moody composition! Absolutely love it!

A beautiful painting. I like it better than his double oval

Thank you all for the kind words. <3

I just realised how the dark background colours are a teeny bit more to the purplish side. This does not show very well in this photograph.
So there is a little bit more colour contrast on the painting itself.

Also, my stream fell down more than Bob's, so that's how I ended up with the bigger rocks. :D Funny how things go sometimes while you are painting.
Unplanned things just happening and then working with and adjusting to that.

Gorgeous!

Lovely wilderness scene Titia, well created and painted. Cheers

Looks so realistic! Beautiful artwork.

Very nice overall. Well done!

Love it Titia! So nice to see this one with out the double ovals. Such a pretty scene!
