Boy, my brushes did not like this one! Lol! I really wanted to get the “messy’, more natural feel like Bob did it in this one, and I really struggled. I tried to make my trees & bushes with 5 different brushes. I scraped off crazy tonight. So used to the other bush technique. But I really wanted to get it done how it was supposed to be. The outcome is not exactly how I wanted it.

Not my best painting but it will do. I love the green tones very much.

I did add some berries in some of my bushes here and there. They are hard to see on the picture. If you find one, pick it up. It’s ripe and very sweet! 🍓🫐

⚠️ UPDATED PAINTING ⚠️
I redid the foliage of the trees. It looks a little better. I used my 2” Kevin Hill brush. I can def live with this version better.

I love the glow! I think the trees worked out well. Good job my friend.

Super job!

Very nice ,Nancy 👍🏼🇩🇪

I'm feeling the same with my recent paintings; Testing new brushes is a challenge! All the same, I love how "green" the painting tone came out. Love the lower bushes, has a great different feel from Bob's.

Love the water in this! What you do is very magical! I see the berries!

First of all, you did a fabulous job with this Nancy. What brush did you use? Remember, Bob hadn't developed his own brush at that time and was using Alexander brushes. I have one and it really does make Bill's rougher style foliage very easily. The brush itself is very similar to Kevin Hill's 1 inch brush.

Thank you all for you encouragements. And positive comments. As I always told you, I will always show you my worse & best composition and everything in between. 😊

Thank you Tomi. I did use my 1” Kevin Hill brush. But I couldn’t make it do the “messy” look. It was super weird. So I scraped it off 3 times. So used my 1” BR brush but got the shown outcome. At the bottom, just like Fanatic pointed out, my bushes looked more like Bob’s. At that point, I had return to my KH 1” brush and figured out how to use it. It not the same loading technique than BR’s conventional brushes.

It just shows you how a little variation in equipement and loading paint on the brush will have a determined effect on the canvas. Super interesting.

Nonetheless, I learned lots and would repeat the experience hands down! 😀

Another beauty!

You are so right Nancy.

Beautiful artwork. Even I like the green tones in this one!

Thank you very much Sandy! ☺️

Many thanks Abha! I couldn’t agree more, the green tones are just super lovely! 🥰

I love your version. this was a tough one, I definitely want to revisit this painting

Thank you Jessie! I totally agree w/you. It's way harder than it looks. Would love to see your redo!

The highlights really pop and bring out the detail of the bushes and trees no matter how much scraping you did or what brush you used. I'm such a beginner I don't even know the names of most of the brushes, I just grab whatever I think will do the trick and am still playing around and learning. This is really pretty though.

Great job!

Thank you very much John! It's just a matter of time before you know all the brushes names! 😃

Many thanks Tom!
