Because my previous version in oil the red was much too weak, I wanted to retry this beautiful autumn scene and I used a more expensive red (W&N artist), used more paint for it and used own made liquid white with less white and more oil in it (the latest bought liquid white differs from all the previous ones I used, it dries much faster, Bob Ross brand, made in Germany this time while the others were made in the UK) the intensity of the red sky and the water is much better I think. I also did a second lightspot in the sky, because the light on the mountains is coming from the right side, on canvasboard 30 x 24 cm.

Mrs. but please call me Helen if you like. I think I'm slowly converting to liking red/pink. I have a natural tendency to choose neutral quiet colours but I am coming round to the idea of making my paintings more colourful. Thanks to examples like this one!
