Ocean Sunrise

Retired_and_Painting 08 Apr 2024

So...I did 3 paintings for gifts for my 3 sisters. This is the last of them. The horizon line looks slightly sloped down to the left, but i took the photo a little crooked. It is level as it should be. This was a really fun painting to do. It uses few colors and liquid black on the bottom part. It surprisingly got painting fairly quickly. Anyway, this is my rendition of the painting as seen on Bob's episode, that was done by Audrey Golden. I actually used a follow through done by Paul Ranson on YouTube.

***Update. I added an update to the painting. Didn't really like the middle left and right horizon. The lavender colors looked more like distant mountains at the edges. I blended them in more to resemble more like clouds in the sky. This is the part I like doing the best. Letting the painting set for a bit and then come back to it for adjustments. That's my problem. I fuss with them too much afterwards...LOL...

So very pretty!

Thanks Dirk and paintingblondie. It was a fun painting to do.

Great contrast between the foreground and other rich colours, very pleasing. I could quite happily have that hung on my wall.

Think I'm gonna stare at this scene the rest of the evening: so nice and quiet with beautiful colors!

lovely!

Thank you LandscapePainter joha59, and Jeffth. All of your remarks are very kind and encouraging. This is my 4th painting and to be honest with y'all I'm quite proud of it myself.
