Hi Sally, how are you?

I'm a bit miffed. I spent several unpaid hours today posing for my portrait, and this is the best the artist could come up with.

Good effort. You have to be brave to paint along with Ben Stahl. This episode is so difficult. Bob usually gives a step by step demo. This episode is watching a guest expert paint; He explains his color theory and philosophy. Its good stuff, but it won't help a newbee to build the architecture of eyes, nose, mouth...

Thank you Rebecca, I couldn't be bothered with the video, I watched it ages ago and didn't like it. I just painted it from the photo and did my own thing. That how I normally paint anyway. It was just to practice painting loose.

I think you did a great job with this! I did not like the video either, it gave me brain cramps LOL But I love the details you painted in her clothing, the expression, all of it.

Brain cramps🤣 its not a very popular one is it. Thank you Carolyn. It was my first portrait and I didn't really expect to finish it.

I think it takes alot to do a decent portrait. I just bought 2 books on oil portraits, and anothe on oil painting in general. I'm hoping to become passable at it.... eventually. After some study and practise! It's good to have a goal

I agree with you Rebecca. It's not my cuppa tea so I probably won't be going down that road. But good for you, best of luck and I look forward to seeing more of your portraits.

Gorgeous, not easy to paint with Ben.

Thank you Tanisha. I am in awe of anyone who can paint the traditional way but it's not for me. I'm glad I had fun with it though. It's good to try something different.
