My first oval & seascape experience. I couldn't do the rocks like Bob does. I think my filbert brush is so soft or not suitable for this technique. Since I didn't have dark sienna, I added a little Bright Red to Burnt Umber and mixed it -- and the lower part just put the Van Dyke Brown. I really like it. I didn't expect this result.
This is lovely. I like the way your rocks turned out. The double loaded brush is a way of painting 2 colors at once, but you can also just paint one color on top of the other... really results are close to the same.
Thank you TheLandscapePainter. It really is my first seascape, but I’ve painted other Bob Ross scenes before :) I was nervous about the wave angle.
that was exactly what I did RebeccaJ :) thanks for the comment! means a lot.
Yes Berkan, waves are all about the angles. It's worth watching Paul Ranson on youtube, he explains it really well in his wave angles video. That should get rid of your nerves for next time!
I think I've seen couple videos of him before. I took note. Thank you so much for your help TheLandscapePainter!
Really beautiful!
fantastic job! yeah the filbert rocks are a bit tricky, I don't always like how they turn out for me. sometimes I will paint the dark base for the rocks first and glide the highlight color over them with the small part of the knife as a backup method. but I think yours turned out fantastic!
Super super nice shading of the sky! And the clouds and waves turned out great. Lovely job!
LG! I'm honored <3
yeah, I think I will use this method until I reach Bob level :D. It's safer.
thanks for your comment aarroonn!

It doesn't look like first attempt so you did good, well done. Using a double loaded filbert takes a bit of practice but your rocks look ok to me.
