Mountain Seclusion

Voy Kay 26 Dec 2019

Really had the spirit for painting this morning. I chose one with a black canvas since I had one (12"x16") prepared the other day. Started of well yet ran into trouble with the mountains. I have an excellent knife, knew perfectly what to do with it yet now I believe that I have used the wrong kind of paint. I used an older, more fluid kind of Titanium white and that killed it. The rest of the painting I did with more professional (harder) paint so that went better. Still had major trouble with the trees and all because of a brand new set of wave brushes that in fact turned out to be rubbish! Slowly but surely, I'm learning the hard way on techniques, quality of materials and talent (or the lack of that).
One good advice I can give about this painting is NOT to use too much phtalo blue to cover over the liquid clear. I thought I did not yet ended up in a sea of blue at moments!

I really like color and form of these rugged mountains. To be sure, whole thing sets an interesting, mysterious mood. Nicely done!

Thank you Dracula for your always motivating and praising comments, I truly adore and appreciate them! I'm somewhat dissapointed about this creation yet I tend to blame my too amateur material for it, luckely that will change soon. I hope my future works will improve and I'm very hungry to try just that!.

I really like what happens in the water. It is so gentle in blending and blue is so nice there. This water would need a lighter sky, I think.
Mountains look very impressionistic/abstract to me. But they are great. There is hard work there! Keep going and develop your own unique style!

Thank you Sunnylady for your great coments! Indeed, I had trouble with the water mostly caused by too much phtalo blue over the liquid clear. This is far from my better work yet you noticed it right, it was hard work indeed. Highlighting bushes and mountains remain difficult for me yet I surely want to improve. Motivation is half the job, isn't it? Hear/read ya soon!!

I would like to say the sky and the cabin are nicely done!.
White evergreens are lack of paints ,Voy if you add morepaints on them.
They will be better .
