Ebony Sunset

lightsnow 15 Mar 2020

This is my 38th painting and second in an impromptu three painting painting spree this weekend. This isn't really an interpretation of Ebony Sunset, it's just the closest I could find. Since I had some crimson on my palette left over from yesterday, I figured I'd do a black canvas with a thin coat of liquid clear + crimson where I could add yellow and whites and create a cool sky. Overall, this one was really laid back and things seemed to gel well. The clear was fun to work with and these are currently my best tree highlights. I'm quite pleased with how this one came out. 18x24

A very beautiful painting! The highlights are really grabbing the spectator's eye! Working with liquid clear is one of my favourites, since the colours remain so very realistic and full of contrast!

Very mysterious mood here!
