Peaceful Valley

Froggie 11 Apr 2019

There are several things I wasn't particularly happy with in this one, but I learned a lot. My second painting with mountains, so I guess it could be worse. I continue to learn. It's enjoyable no matter the result. I'll probably tone down that yellow before I consider this one really finished. Happy painting. 🙂

I love your mountain in the background! Makes me want to look through your big tree! I like the yellow because it brings sunshine into the painting. Keep going you are doing great!

Thanks Crissy. I was a little upset that the tree wanted to be so big. Those were probably some of the best mountains I had painted up to that point. (I've done some better ones since.) I learn and (usually) improve with each painting. I like using the knife too. Thought it was weird at first because I actually thought the palette knife was only used to mix colors. A friend of mine said his art teacher painted exclusively with palette knives. If I could get away with that, I'd do it too. I don't get the thrill Mr. Ross got out of cleaning brushes. 😆
