Mountain Blossoms

Barbara 14 Dec 2020

I enjoyed painting this and am pleased with the mountain. I found the small pine trees the most difficult part as the brushes that I would normally use on larger ones were too big. I decided to put trees on the left to obscure them.

I love your hangy down branches on the close trees!!! I have such a hard time with mine!

Thanks very much. I think they were rather accidental but I just used the liner brush with black oil paint thinned down with linseed oil. For the tree leaves I used a fan brush.

Lovely work! I really like your pines with the many bare branches. The pink and white bushes are so natural looking and beautiful.

Thanks so much. I am very new to this as I only started painting in September during a covid lockdown. Bob Ross was on the tv and I thought, "Hmm, I might move on from Painting by Numbers and try that!" Now I am hooked! HIs techniques are very accessible.

I’ve never tried paint by number but it seems to me that would be more difficult. I haven’t painted long myself, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. It never gets old and each painting is a new challenge. To forever happy painting! 🥂

Wow! Your work suggests that you have been painting for decades. Yes, we are fortunate to have found something so interesting and enjoyable. Happy painting, indeed!
