Anatomy of a Wave

Okay, this was intimidating and I struggled.

But look at transparency of the water in the wave on the right. It looks great!

Seascapes are all about blending and blending and blending. You did first step in achieving transparency through controlled blending. Great job.

My little advise for the next eye of the wave - do not use pure white, even the instructor says. Go through yellows with green/blue and a touch of white and even less brown. It is similar colour you did on the right just a touch more yellow and a bit lighter. You already got how to do it!

This is the best episode about how wave works and more you paint better you get with the sea, because you understand it better.

Really love that transparent water on the right. It screams about the power of the ocean.

I used yellow for the transparency and scraped it off to start over twice before I was happy.

I think the hard part was trying to control my medium on the brush. In future, I may just use liquid clear on the canvas.
