Waterfall in the Woods

Mgiese84 21 Sep 2021

I wanted to do a waterfall today. I thought this one was so pretty with the purples throughout. I changed the foreground because again, I thought Bob was too heavy on the greens. I actually might give this one to my mom for Christmas as her favorite color is purple. 🤫

Thank you very much Sandy! I really appreciate it.

Your punches of color really changed the feel of the original. Bob's was much more deep woods dark, but you livened it up nicely.

Thanks Pam

Very nice. This one has a peaceful feel to it. I especially like the detail work on the trees and the water / shrub coloring.

Thanks Roy. I tried to break up some of the foliage with my little white stick trees

Love the colors. Great feel to it. Love the rocks and the mossy feel to them.

Thanks Mark!

Matt, beautiful as always. The colors of the flowers certainly add to this already beautiful painting! Did you do the entire canvas in black gesso? Or did you leave the spot in the upper center bare, except for lavender?

Thanks Joseph. You're testing my memory here but I'm pretty sure I did black gesso everywhere except that upper center spot.

Thank you Matt! In the video it appears that Bob had a small of b gesso, but it was difficult to tell. Thank you for your response.

I love your usage of red in your paintings. I think that is the one color that gets used the least, but you do it very well.

Again, thank you for your help, I do appreciate it.

Your very welcome Joseph. Anytime you have a question feel free. And yea I like just a bush or two of red every now and then 😀
