I think I need a new liner brush. Mine keeps trying to split in two. Oh well I am happy with how my bushes came out and I put in Bob’s blue tree. 16x20

Nice painting here, Brian. You did really well with those bushes in the back. It's tough to get that look right. I haven't been able to accomplish the feat. The blue tree really complements the rest of the colors, too.

Thanks Alex! I spent some time and care on the bushes in the back. (More than I normally do) so I need to change what I have been doing apparently.

Looks great! I like the birch trees. Have you tried using brush dip to preserve your brushes? I started using it a few months ago and I’ve been using mostly the same few brushes (filberts and a liner) for my last 20 or so paintings and they still look new. I also stopped using paint thinner because that seemed to be destroying my brushes even after only a few paintings.
