Wilderness Day

Ninoum 16 Dec 2022

This one got to my heart. It is the very last episode that Bob recorded… Throughout, he asked his audience to send ideas of what we would like to see being painted. He tells us “I will see you soon”… we want to believe that there will be more seasons coming up the way he carries his message. But in reality, this is it! I enjoyed every single second of it. I know from reading about his lymphoma that he was pretty sick at the end but kept wanting to do more and more episodes. You can’t tell that he is going through such a terrible thing. Bob was an amazing man and there isn’t a day that I don’t thank him from what he has brought into my life.

Nice job on this one. It is a difficult one to watch. Bob looks tired.

Thank you Pam! Yes he does. My heart was aching while doing this one.

It's a poignant episode for sure. Great job on his, Ninoum, nailed it. And incredible job on the foliage, especially "changing the flavor" as Bob says.

Thank you Chris. The only thing that bothers me is the shape of my big mountain in the background. It looks like the pyramid of Giza! lol!!! 😂

Often they literally are pyramidal in shape. There is a hill that I see on the way to work that looks like it for sure has a pyramid hidden beneath its soil, it's so pyramiddy! You might be able to play with the shape with light gray, wait for it to dry, then do a lite blender brush overapplication of white/yellow?

Great idea Chris!!! I will def retouch it. It just bother me too much. Every time I look at it I see PYRAMID in neon flashing lights! 😂

Lol! Definitely,if it rankled me, I'd tackle touching it up. I have one on my easel right now that I plan to do exactly that. It was the Bob Ross piece called Crimson Tide. I messed up a cloud right in the middle of it right at the end and my plan is to paint a sort of Steampunk brassy looking ship in the sky over top of that cloud in an attempt to fix it. The rest of it turned out really nice I thought.
