My first attempt at a beach scene. This was a real challenge, but I enjoyed it. I usually gesso my canvas with a gray color, but I think for this painting it could have used a gray several shades lighter. The sky and sand were a bit of a challenge to get as bright as I wanted.
I'm not entirely happy with the stark contrast between the water's edge and the beach. It could use some thinner water where the blue is apparent but the sand is still visible through it. But I copied Bob and this is how he did it.
All in all, a very fun painting.
