Finally mustered up the courage to try "Campfire". I followed Paul Ranson's tutorial.
12"x16" black canvas. Liquid Clear, Alizarin Crimson, Van Dyke Brown, Cadmium Yellow, Indian Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Bright Red, Titanium White and Prussian Blue.
I've seen "Campfire" listed as one of the hardest Bob Ross paintings, so I had put off attempting it. I had a few problems, but I'm reasonably happy with howit turned out. I particularly like the tree. I think Paul Ranson's addition of pale lavender referred light on the shadow side really helps it.

Well done! Your cowboy is highlighted perfectly, so you can just pick him out but he's still subtle against the tree.

In Paul's video he makes beautiful black ripples in the water by scraping the paint off with his palette knife. I tried it here, but it didn't have the same effect. If anyone knows what I did wrong I'd appreciate some advice.

This is one of my favorite Bob Ross paintings. I'm going to try it when I feel I'm ready to do it justice.

Looks great! Love the tree! I have attempted this one twice. Both times with very different results. You can see them on my page if you would like. It is a very difficult painting to do, and I even left out the cowboy. Lol
