My 13th painting and the number was for sure NOT an unlucky one. I've been preparing this one for over a week and just had to wait until my ordered grey gesso was delivered, which happened today. So I took the black (earlier prepared) canvas (20"x24"), three gessos, a foam brush and a script liner. About two hours later, the painting was finished in black & white. Everybody at home loved it yet … I wanted to go further for the coloured version (see that one next). For now, just posting the B&W version, however without the sun and the rays accentuated which would have shown a much stronger effect.
Most fun to do was …. just about everything! This painting almost paints itself when you take your time yet fast enough to avoid the gesso on your palet from drying out. Be certain to use enough water on the script liner for the branches, it will pay off. Have fun with this!!
Over two years now without comments... Let me end the trend.
I greatly appreciate you showing the b&w version you created prior to colorization. Honestly, I wanted to comment before I flip over to see the color one. Another great job, oh talented one!
