Tropical Seascape

Voy Kay 25 Apr 2020

Well, after a false start two weeks ago, where I started this painting vertically iso horizontally and had to stop, I finally got to finish it today. The weekend means my office is available so I am able to paint Bob Ross recreations iso my other .... somethings.
Canvas used was a high quality 12"x16" and where I started this with three brushes only, I ended up with 11 dirty ones! Also odd to say that this took me over three hours (really at ease!) where I would have sworn less then two hours had past. Says a lot of how enjoyable and fun painting this was!
Easiest to do were the sky and the palmtrees (yes, with coco's!), hardest part was highlighting and coloring the waves. I added some grasses on the left side, which Bob left out on his 'TV painting' (no time left!) yet included them on his 'Book painting'. I loved filling that empty corner up so included them myself.
Please read and comment on the various articles in the articles section of this site, enjoy the rest of the weekend and till next happy painting!

So happy this did escape from the 'girls in need of more textile' train and was spotted!
Thank you Sunnylady, this was a tough one but will make the living room for sure!!

This is very nicely done. The distant waves are so detailed as well as the crashing wave far away . i couldn't see the coconuts at first. But that could just be my old eyes lol ) These seascapes are so nice (Some how I thought that you did this one already...but I checked and you didn't)

Thanks for visiting LJM, always a pleasure!
It was hard to fit the Coconuts in (5 in total) since I started with the wrong brush at first and then had troubles with the paint to stick. Eventually my scriptliner saved me and now they are more or less presentable.
I am very fond of painting seascapes and although always a bit challenging, I'm never afraid of taking them on. I've done 7 so far (4 Bob Ross) and need to do 3 more since all 10 will be in my living room!

Till next one!!

Voy, I just saw new guy on BR channel on you tube, he did fantastic forest and waterfall. It is almost 1 hour video. Quite many details covered in the video, I was so happy to see it!

A VERY nice episode! Just had a glance at it, will certainy view this into detail soon! Thanks dear!!!

I love the eye of the wave and the palms!

Thank you Bobby! The trick with the palm trees is to make the branches look thick enough and to use a soft wave brush for the palmtrees with paint, slightly thinned with paint thinner.
Till next one!!

I was about missed this wonderful work. The colours are very beautifu and the palm trees are nicely done!.

Thank you JIn! This is one of my favourite seascapes too. The palm trees are about my best where the trick is too use a little paint thinner for the leaves!
