Enchanted Forest

Voy Kay 23 Feb 2021

Started very well and should've left that purple/blue look in there iso highlighting with green and creating a totally disturbing atmosphere.
Sunnylady has mentioned this before to me to not always follow Bob but do my own thing. Today, I'd forgotten her excellent advice, much to my despair!

Recycled canvas 10"x12", 40 minutes of painting.
I plan to do this again, 'Frank Sinitra & Claude François' style.

Its not so bad voy, you just need to do something with the footpath. I didn't know Frank Sinatra could paint!

I think in painting we have to learn to trust our instincts, allow ourselves to be creative and do things our own way.

I like the distant colors and that foreground tree trunk looks pretty good Voy!

Thanks TLP, you are right, that footpath looks like a stairway to heaven!

The Frank Sinatra/ Claude François hint was all about Claude's famous song 'Comme d'habitude', which was covered to his best hit yet by Frank S. to 'I did it my way'.
The latter is how I should have done this painting!

That is so right Umagaan, and I wished I had that wisdom when creating the second half of this painting.

So nice to read you DoggyM, that background was indeed the best of this creation and I should have left it that way iso of abusing it with green highlights.
Learned another lesson there!

I agree, that shade of blue is quite beautiful. I am wondering how it would have looked with blue highlights. I like these paintings, After The Rain is one of my Ross favourites.

I intend to find out TLP, when my mood allows it. Then I will recreate this one but without green higlights and will use blue/white/pink tones only. I am convinced that will be gorgeous!
