Frosty Winter Morn

Voy Kay 26 Jan 2020

45th painting Bob Ross style and still in the mood for more. Canvas used was a 12"x16" and weaponed with a coffee next to paint and brushes, I took off!
Happy sky, easy treelines, great evergreens (finally without highlights!), nice little shack, fairly acceptable big tree, gorgeous fences (I added a second because the left side was so empty!!), jolly pathway and fast snowcarpet. So where is the catch then? That was hidden in an unexpected corner where after I finished the painting (roughly two hours), I noticed that the entire sky had reacted to the mix of liquid white and liquid clear. The paint was in the process of being eaten yet much to my delight, that created a gorgeous effect. It is visible on the painting, specially in the center, and specially when you magnify the photo. Now I am dead certain I cleaned my sky brushes VERY well (so I doubt if it was the paint thinner) yet remembered that I had this trouble before, AND also with a mix of liquid white and the clear. Guess I should avoid that from now on or be happily surprised with a very original winter sky in the future! Please enjoy!

Meanwhile I did the roof again since the right side was not exactly a rectangle, and that disturbed me. Couldn't upload a new picture though.

Almost a month without comments …. guess this was indeed a poor painting after all.
